    Basquiat: Figures, Signs, Symbols

    Miami
The Pérez Art Museum Miami is set to unveil one of the most significant exhibitions of the year with "Basquiat: Figures, Signs, Symbols," opening June 25, perfectly timed with the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup.

At the center of the exhibition is Untitled (1982) by Jean-Michel Basquiat, a defining work that reimagines the human head through a raw, electrified lens. The piece, instantly recognizable for its striking skull with piercing red and white eyes set against a vivid blue backdrop, shattered records when it sold for $110.5 million at Sotheby's in 2017.

It was later acquired privately for a reported $200 million by Kenneth C. Griffin, who is now lending the work for this rare public presentation.
