Named for Marcel Cerdan — the French boxing champion who won the world title in 1948, endured ring rumbles and war, and carried on a celebrated affair with Edith Piaf — Ford Fry's steakhouse is the most romantic room in Atlanta. It is also one of the most fun. The Westside Provisions District space, which Fry built in the former Abattoir location, is a study in controlled maximalism: burgundy leather banquettes, gold-framed antique mirrors, dimly lit chandeliers, and vintage European boxing photography that gives the room a cinematic, speakeasy-era glamour. The menu is unapologetically classic — 100% Black Angus and USDA Prime steaks including a 60-day dry-aged ribeye and bone-in côte de boeuf, a Caesar prepared tableside, pommes aligot and pommes Dauphinoise alongside. Lara Creasy's beverage program has earned recognition from Wine Enthusiast Magazine as one of America's 100 Best Wine Restaurants. Marcel holds MICHELIN Guide recognition and has become a fixture of Atlanta's film industry social scene — on most weekend nights, someone recognizable is in the room. The late-night burger, available after 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, has become an institution of its own.
